Der Schia-Islam 7. Monotheismus (2. Aufl.)
Volume 7 has main goals, namely, to provide the reader with profiled information in order to understand the doctrine of God from the point of view of Shia Islam and to pass it on truthfully. I hope that with the newly illuminated knowledge about the Shiite doctrine of God, I can contribute to the reader being able to both break down prejudices and keep his own point of view up to date.
The examination of this topic is relevant for various religious, theological, moral, philosophical, spiritual and mystical reasons; especially in the areas of philosophy of life and theology of life (which is defined by author as “Theo Life”!
When God is proclaimed as the Lord of the worlds, this does not mean that all people recognize the same God from the outset or in the end and believe in the same and the equal God. One can certainly not claim that all religions offer the right knowledge and theology.
At the beginning of the 21st century, we find ourselves in a situation described by the author as “post God is dead age”, where one book after another is being written who simply reject the existence of God. That is why our students of theology, religious studies and philosophy who would like to learn something about the development of the Quranic image of God would like to keep it as compact as possible. They are constantly confronted and deal with the following questions and topics:
- God, His essence, His name, His attributes and characteristics.
- Is He a person and does He have a personal character?
- Is He portrayed as Trinitarian as in Christianity or unitarian as in Judaism and Islam?
- Does the Quran have a doctrine of God at all?
- Does Islam’s image of God differ from the image of God of the earlier revealed religions?
- What does He demand of the people?
- What is the responsibility of man towards Him?
In the search for truth, or rather on the path of meeting and finding God, many people, Christians and especially the students would like to learn something about the unfolding of the Quranic image of God - as quickly as possible. That’s why they study Islamic studies and Quran exegesis.
The Islamic image of God, which has its origin in the prophetic traditions and ultimately in the Quran, is a purely monotheistic image of God. Yes, Islam is a monotheistic religion, i.e. it confesses only one God.
